Task The objective was to rethink the LMS using a speculative design approach to create a tool that is faster, clearer, more intuitive, and better aligned with the real priorities of students. Action User Research
I documented my own struggles while using the LMS and casually observed students as they navigated it identifying common challenges, confusion points, and inefficiencies:

Observation
Through informal observation and conversations with students, I identified key friction points not directly tied to the LMS, but to the overall study process and how students access essential information:
“I rarely remember course titles, I recall professor names and class days instead.”
Dominica
“I usually just ask someone what the assignment is and when it’s due, I barely check the system.”
Jacob
“I never remember the classroom, I just ask in the WhatsApp group every time.”
Helen
Layouts Building
I created wireframes and prototypes for new layouts that prioritized clarity and ease, placing the true priorities of students at the forefront. I also incorporated speculative features designed to anticipate their needs.
